Your child's privacy, in plain English.

No legalese. Here's exactly what happens to your family's information when your child uses Milo & Lina β€” and what we'd never do.

Parents create the account, not kids

You sign up. You enter the email and password. Your child uses the lessons through your account β€” they never have to fill in a sign-up form themselves.

What we collect (the short list)

  • Your email address (so you can log in and get receipts).
  • Which weeks have been completed and quiz answers β€” so progress works.
  • Basic technical info like browser type, used to keep the site running.

That's really it. We don't ask for your child's name, age, photo, or location.

What we never do

  • No ads to children. Ever.
  • No selling or renting your data to anyone.
  • No tracking your child across other websites.
  • No social media buttons that quietly report your child's activity.
  • No chat features where strangers can message your child.

Built for COPPA

We follow the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar rules in other countries. In simple terms: we collect the bare minimum from kids, and parents are the ones in charge of the account.

No ads, ever

Children never see advertising on Milo & Lina β€” no banners, no sponsored content, no β€œsuggested for you,” no third-party ad networks. The only thing kids see in the app is the lesson itself.

No public profiles, no social features

There are no usernames to pick, no profile pages, no leaderboards, no comments, no friends list, no chat, no DMs, and no way for one user to find or contact another. Your child's progress is visible only to you.

Children can't create their own account

Sign-up is parent-only. A child can't register, can't enter their own email, and can't change account settings. If a child tries to sign up, they'll be asked to hand the device to a parent.

You're in control

You can, at any time:

  • See everything stored on your account.
  • Reset your child's progress with one click on the Progress page.
  • Export a copy of your data on request.

How data deletion works

Email hello@miloandlina.com from the address on your account and write β€œDelete my account.” Here's what happens next:

  • Within 24 hours: we confirm the request by email.
  • Within 7 days: we permanently delete your account, your child's progress, quiz answers, and any profile data.
  • Within 30 days: deletion is propagated through encrypted backups, after which no copy remains.

We keep only the minimum required by law (for example, payment receipts for tax purposes) and nothing about your child.

A note about safety

Milo & Lina is a closed, story-based learning experience. There is no way for other users β€” kids or adults β€” to see, find, or contact your child through the app.
